Joseon is a Korean themed sub-community connected to and affiliated with Shiro.
Joseon is named after the Joseon or Chosun dynasty, the longest and last lineage of Korean kings and emperors. More information on the Joseon dynasty can be found here.
The site itself is based on Gyeongbokung Palace, the largest of five major palaces of the Joseon dynasty.
Due to the limitations of Minecraft and available space, some creative liberty has been used to recreate the palace complex; several buildings are based on extant features of Gyeongbokung, including Gwanghwam Gate, Heungnyemun Gate, Geunjeongjeon (Throne Hall) and Gyeonghoeru (Royal Banquet Hall).
Joseon was constucted by misterdarren, over a period of three months, with assistance from Shiro community members. (especially euske, the digging robot)
